This is one special couple. Mel and Brendan were one of the very first to book at Eleven Eighty, two years out from their wedding date and before we had officially opened. They took a huge leap of faith on us as the landscaping was not finished, we were totally unknown, and we were making a lot of promises!! Mel and Brendan are now part of the very foundations of Eleven Eighty… in our first two years they have not missed one open day!!
We asked Mel and Brendan why they took such a big chance on us: “We were looking for a wedding venue on the South Coast. We found Eleven Eighty and fell in love with the rustic charm of the barn, courtyard and old school hall. We were so excited by all the possibilities and potential….we came back every open day and it was lovely to see the growth of the venue from the maturation of landscaping to the inclusion of the marquee, we just adored every little detail”.
Mel and Brendan got married in August which meant that our beautiful Willow Trees were not quite in bloom, so instead of a garden ceremony, they opted to hold their nuptials in the courtyard with the Eleven Eighty Arbour and Old School Hall as the backdrop.
“One of our favourite things was the DIY element, which meant we could set the venue up exactly as we wanted to and we could chose all of our favourite vendors. We had so much fun styling the venue ourselves with lots of personal touches so that the vibes felt exactly like us.” They certainly did bring some gorgeous personal touches to their big day. We love the individual candles as favours for their guests and the groomsmen socks!
We also love the cohesive use of green from the bridesmaids dresses to the napkins and table settings.
We love that Mel and Brendan brought their own finishing touches to their day but made sure to incorporate all that is on offer at Eleven Eighty from our stunning timber wedding arbour to our selection of lawn games:
