South Coast Wedding

We consider ourselves so lucky to have had this wonderful couple as the first to exchange their vows at Eleven Eighty. There were no wedding nerves, no stress, just a relaxed vibe, excitement and lots of love. It was particularly special for us that it was Locky and Kat who were the first to exchange their vows at our new south coast wedding venue as they had stayed at the property, pre renovation managing to get in one last family reunion before the covid lockdowns came into force. It was wonderful to have the family back again to see all the changes for yet another celebration.
The girls chose to have their hair and makeup done in the train carriage whilst the boys used the bridal suite in the Schoolmasters Residence.
The week prior, there had been much discussion as to whether we needed the marquee setting up for a potential wet weather option. The right decision was made. They went with no marquee and the sun shone. Boy did it shine. It was a hot one! Locky and Kat chose to have their ceremony in the garden in front of the Willow trees and decked out the garden from the Eleven Eighty prop shed with velvet couches, peacock chairs and a selection of lawn games. Locky built his own beautiful rustic triangle arbour for the occasion.
This ceremony had some beautiful, unique moments. The nod to Kat’s heritage was particularly special with an aboriginal smoking ceremony and the bride walking down the isle to the poignant sound of the didgeridoo. As Kat will tell you, she’s waited a number of years for this day and we particularly loved Kat blowing the dust off her written vows before speaking.
The reception was alfresco in the courtyard making the most of the glorious weather with the team from The Monkey Express catering for a sit down long table dinner and the Henry Clive team running the Eleven Eighty bar and setting up both a champagne and espresso martini tower.
The celebrations continued with dancing in the Old School Hall and these guys certainly through themselves into it!
On looking back and reflecting on the day, certain words came to mind: Laughter, celebration, love, family. It was a relaxed, joyous occasion. Pure celebration of family and friends.
Thank you Kat and Locky for choosing Eleven Eighty – The Venue with a Twist for your wedding day on the South Coast. We loved hosting you and your friends and family.
