The Most Fun Wedding We’ve Hosted This Year? It Might Just Be This One.

When “just have fun” becomes the wedding plan…

Not every wedding starts with Pinterest boards, elaborate styling concepts or a perfectly choreographed timeline.

For Brodie and Brian, who married at Eleven Eighty in March 2026, the vision was refreshingly simple.

Good food. (Thank you Rabbit and Co)
Good drinks.  (Thank you Eleven Eighty)
Good music. (Thank you Ben Fox Band)
The people they love.

Everything else was just the backdrop.

As locals from Berry, they chose our Midweek Day Hire package, as they didn’t need the accommodation for visiting guests.  However, they did add on our cottage for the day for the Groomsmen to get ready  in and as a refuge for anyone who needed a break through the day.  Instead, they invested in the things that mattered most to them—including one addition that would become the talking point of the entire day…  A jumping castle.

Well we are the Venue with a Twist after all!

A wedding that didn’t follow the rule book

Life doesn’t always follow the romantic script.

After losing her father just months before, Brodie and Brian’s engagement happened quietly on the couch while watching a movie.

No elaborate proposal.
No flash mob.
No mountaintop.

Just the right person, at the right time.

Somehow, it perfectly reflected the couple they’d continue to be throughout their wedding planning—choosing what felt right rather than what tradition expected.

Making the venue work for them

One of the reasons Brodie and Brian chose Eleven Eighty was the flexibility.

“We chose Eleven Eighty because it allowed us to create a bespoke experience. The variety of spaces and the large grassed area opened our imagination for what was possible.”

Rather than racing off-site for photographs, they were able to stay with their guests while still capturing beautiful images throughout the property.

It’s something we hear often from couples—the venue becomes more than somewhere to hold a ceremony and reception. It becomes part of the story.

Rustic, relaxed and uncomplicated

Brodie and Brian didn’t try to compete with the venue.

Instead, they embraced it.

Simple table runners.
Bud vases.
A few flowers.
Draping around the arbour.

That’s it.

They let the heritage buildings, mature gardens and marquee do most of the talking.

Their florist leaned into earthy colours and rustic textures that felt completely at home at Eleven Eighty.

Sometimes less really is more.

The unexpected star of the day…

This deserves its own section.

Let’s be honest.

You probably weren’t expecting us to say the jumping castle.

Neither were most of the guests.

It entertained the kids.
It entertained the adults.
And it created unique photo opps

As Brodie commented, “None of our guests had been to a wedding with a jumping castle before. Everyone loved it.”

These are exactly the kinds of ideas we love. Not because they’re extravagant, but because they’re memorable. Eleven Eighty was created for couples who want to do things their own way – where convention can take a back seat, personalities shine through, and every wedding becomes the beginning of a story that’s unmistakably theirs.

Advice from Brodie and Brian

Their biggest recommendation?

If you’re considering a Day Hire wedding, hiring the cottage the night before is worth it.

Although they didn’t need accommodation, having a private space for getting ready, storing belongings and giving young children somewhere quiet to escape during the day made everything run more smoothly.

Their other piece of advice might be our favourite.

“I think we needed to trust the process a little more.”  Every couple worries about the tiny details leading up to the day.  Almost every couple tells us afterwards they wish they’d worried less.

Brodie and Brian proved that you don’t need an enormous guest list or elaborate styling to create an unforgettable wedding.

Forty-two adults.
Fourteen children.
A relaxed atmosphere.
A venue full of character.
And yes…

A jumping castle.

It was uniquely theirs.

And that’s exactly how weddings should be.

Testimonials

We just had the most magical wedding here – 10/10 venue!!! We cannot speak more highly of our experience! Amazing hosts and team, with exceptional attention to detail. There are so many incredible places for photos (but also the photos don’t do it justice!) and the whole ambience really contributed to our wedding. It was amazing being able to stay at the property for the weekend. We absolutely loved it and could not recommend it more!

The unique venue catered for our family requirements and beyond with many personalised details. Every part of the venue was utilised from the train carriage, the on-site accomodation, through to the beautifully decorated bar and iconic tree swing.

Our wedding getaway consisted of 3 days and 2 nights surrounded with loved ones onsite. We enjoyed great company, good food, fun lawn games, and created many wonderful memories. The venue was perfect for our needs. It was kid and dog friendly, spacious, clean, offered many entertainment spaces, and felt like a home away from our home.

We cannot thank Reanah enough for her support and recommendations. We are so grateful to have engaged such talented vendors who went out of their way to make our day special, thank you so much!

Stacey and I highly recommend Eleven Eighty.

Eleven Eighty has to be the best venue on the south coast for a funky lux wedding or to be honest, any event that you need to be seriously special. There are so many gorgeous settings all just perfectly put together. The vintage train carriage blew me away.

Grounds of Alexandria meets Soho House meets Alice in Wonderland…… Wow! How did we not know about this place? So incredibly beautiful with hidden treasures and unexpected plot twists around every corner. Riddled with character, old world charm and modern luxury, I really can’t think of an event space that has as much wow factor as this did.
